The 2009 Parkinson's Symposium has been cancelled.

From all of us at The Duke Movement Disorders Center, thank you for your continuing support and interest in this important program. We look forward to seeing everyone again in 2010. Keep checking the website for details!

Dear Colleagues and Patients:
As you know, Duke Neurology has been able to present annual informational symposia for patients and families that we call "Living With Parkinson's Disease" for the past 8 years, thanks to generous corporate sponsorships. However, unfortunately, this year we have been unable to secure sufficient financial support to justify holding a 9th such symposium that was scheduled for May 30, 2009.

In the past we have attracted audiences of close to 400 people to these events at a total cost approaching $40,000 annually. In the absence of significant pharmaceutical and other corporate support, it has become untenable to carry on with our planned event this year. It is therefore with regret that I announce the cancellation of our symposium for May 30th. I hope that we will be able to offer a revised program at a later date (in 2010).
