General Neurology

A core of neurologists performs the bulk of general neurology care, both on an inpatient and outpatient basis at Duke. There is an appreciation at Duke for the role of the general neurologist both in evaluation and treatment of patients and the education of residents and students. Patients are seen daily in the PDC ( Private Diagnostic Clinic) and on the inpatient services. An active consultation service at Duke and at the Durham VA Hospital allows residents the opportunity to see a wide spectrum of patients under faculty supervision. Additional electives in general neurology are available for senior residents wanting more clinic exposure.
